Warming Up to the Cooler Fall Season...

I'm a summer girl through and through.  I love the hot temperatures, I love the beach and I'd much rather be in flip flops and sundresses than snow boots and and my ankle-length North Face coat that practically every other female wears up here (although it IS sort of like wearing a cozy comforter).  I've lived in the northeast my entire life, so I'm well aware that the summer months here in Beantown are fleeting and I've learned to appreciate every last bit of this glorious season.

Enjoying a few favorite summer activities at once.  Hey, I'm summer multitasking!
New Englanders have this tendency to complain about how cold it is in the winter but then also complain about how hot it is in the summer... although, many of us tend to like the spring and fall.  I never really cared much for fall myself because it meant summer was ending and winter was imminent.  You won't hear me complain about the hot summer weather but winter... well, let me just say that as a Boston resident with on-street parking, I will never take a driveway for granted again. Driving around and around looking for a spot, along with every other driveway-less person on the East side of Southie, before/after a snowstorm hits is NOT fun... but I digress. :)

Parking in a snowstorm... the bane of my existence
Recently, I've found myself warming up to fall though.  Maybe it's my new-found love of pumpkin beer in a cinnamon sugar-rimmed pint glass and Starbucks pumpkin spice lattes (ok, pumpkin anything really).  Or it could be due to all the fun fall activities I have planned like apple picking, cider drinking, ziplining through the New Hampshire foliage, local Octoberfest events and the fall road races I'm signed up for.  Or it might simply be due to the fact that orange is my absolute favorite color and we're pretty much bombarded with it in fall, through October anyway.

Pumpkin and hard cider together?  Genius.  And orange!
Regardless of what has caused my mindset shift, I can honestly say that I'm looking forward to this fall season.  I'm super excited for all of my upcoming plans and crossing my fingers for some nice fall-like weather... that means no freak October snowstorms this year, Mother Nature!

Any other fall activities that I should consider adding to my list of things to do?
